Two big things happened this month.
First, the launch of Sacha Cohen’s movie “Borat” which is on track to possibly become the highest grossing comedy of all time.
Second, the first live meeting of StomperNet, a year long training created by Brad Fallon and Andy Jenkins which has set the standard for intensive Internet marketing education…
You may not be in the market for a year long Internet marketing training costing $9,000 plus, but if you are, Brad and Andy demonstrated that there’s really only one place on earth to get it.
Like Cohen who quietly built a cult following of raving fans with his hilarious “The Ali G Show,” Brad and Andy perfected their approach to education working with a small, but dedicated band of serious students, their Stomper Apprentices.
Like Cohen’s promotion for “Borat”, their promotion for StomperNet was based on giving away some of their best material to whet the marketplace’s appetite.
As millions of movie goers know, as funny as the “Boart” previews have been, nothing can prepare you for the impact of the movie itself which – tasteless as it is – is so side-splittingly funny, you run a real risk of laughing yourself to death in the theater.
But what about StomperNet? Did Brad and Andy show their best stuff as a “come on” and then deliver something a lot less impressive in the program itself?
Well, I went to Atlanta last weekend to see for myself. I’ve been watching Brad and Andy’s work closely for over two years now. Dozens of System folks have been through their earlier advanced trainings and I’ve talked with all of them about their experiences with it.
I came expecting a lot – and I got a lot more than I expected.
Keep in mind, the program is only about 1/10 of the way through (it’s a year long), but based on the course materials I’ve reviewed and the three day seminar I attended (one of three that are part of the program), I’d have to say that StomperNet students have already received their money’s worth.
For years, I’ve wondered why so many in the Internet marketing world seem intent on teaching watered down material. Why not just teach the real deal – the good, the bad and the ugly – without any sugar coating?
The fact is the Internet is the most powerful business building tool since the invention of fire, but to harness its power to its full potential you’ve got to be educated. There’s just no way around it. Feel good, gee whiz stuff – which represents about 99% of the market’s offerings – just doesn’t cut it.
In my experience, serious students – the only ones worth working with – aren’t afraid of the tough stuff. They want it. They just want to know what’s required to be in the business for real so they can get to down to work.
The StomperNet crowd was smart and savvy. The faculty Brad and Andy assembled for this three day event was as sharp as any I’ve ever seen assembled.
And there was one other refreshing thing about this event. Instead of pounding their chests about how successful they’ve been (and they have been wildly successful), Brad and Andy focused their energies on giving their students what they needed to succeed.
One of my favorite parts of the three days was when Brad invited a speaker to go up and explain in step-by-step detail the techniques he used to whup Brad in the search engine rankings.
Not only was the information fascinating (after all, who would have thought anyone could ever beat Brad in a head-to-head SEO contest?), but the message came through loud and clear: StomperNet is about education, not hero worship. And not just education about what works (or used to work) but a sharing of the inner workings of what really drives success in Internet marketing: endless probing, endless experimentation and endless improvement.
If you’re looking for an “overnight success” method that will have you making your fortune by next Tuesday, StomperNet will not be for you, but if you’re serious about Internet marketing and are prepared to make a serious investment of your time and money in an intensive, year-long training, StomperNet is it.
Great news for all of us who are serious about moving Internet marketing forward.
