The Internet as we know it today was NOT inevitable

The Internet has practically always been around, right?

And it’s always been easy to use.

And in 1993 and 1994, its path of development was obvious to all.

Wrong, wrong, and wrong.

Here’s a short segment from 1993 made by the leading (and really, only) television program devoted to covering personal computing.

It documents where the Internet was 30+1 years ago which is why we’re celebrating the 30th anniversary of the big breakthroughs that took place in 1994, this November 5, 2024.

NOTHING about what we have now was inevitable or even anticipated in 1993.
